CARDIAC CARE ~
This program combines skilled nursing care and medical treatments to assist in the prevention of complications and improve the rehabilitation of patients with cardiac conditions. A clinical team including Nurses, Therapists, Pharmacists and Social Workers provides a specially designed program for cardiac care. Individuals with heart disease, congestive heart failure and those who are ready to leave the hospital after surgery or a heart attack are perfect candidates for this program.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ~
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) documents a client’s current ability to perform work from a medical, behavioral, physical, and ergonomic perspective. The FCE is flexible enough to meet the needs of a wide variety of patient populations. The FCE will help to measure work readiness and provide baseline information for successful rehabilitation, as well as safe guidelines leading to attainment of gainful employment.

NEUROLOGIC REHABILITATION ~
The goals of our program focus on helping individuals recover the mental and/or physical functioning affected by a neurological condition. Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies are emphasized through an individualized plan of treatment designed by our clinical team. Patients are able to receive skilled nursing care while undergoing therapy programs for accomplishing daily activities. Individuals who have suffered strokes, paralysis, loss of memory, mobility or speech and the inability to eat are ideal for this program.

ONCOLOGY MANAGEMENT ~
Often times, individuals with cancer require extensive intervention and care that cannot be provided in their home. Our program has been designed specifically to meet the needs of these patients and includes the administration of treatments, supportive care and pain and symptom management. This form of care can be utilized to assist patients in recovering from extensive surgery, for reconditioning during chemotherapy and radiation and to promote comfort and minimize complications during the end stages of the disease.

ORTHOPEDIC REHABILITATION ~
This program meets the needs of patients who have had orthopedic surgery or suffered an injury to the back, arms or legs. Patients undergo a combination of treatment regimens, as well as physical and occupational therapies, designed to return them to the highest level of functioning as soon as possible. All care is administered under the direction of a board-certified Physiatrist who works in conjunction with the patient’s Primary Care Physician and Surgeon. Individuals who have had joint replacements, hip or leg fractures, motor vehicle accidents, spinal injuries, amputations or osteoporosis are ideal candidates for this program.

POST-SURGICAL MANAGEMENT ~
Patients requiring a combination of intravenous medications, wound care, nutritional support, skilled nursing care and physical therapy will benefit from this type of care. Common surgical procedures that indicate a potential need for Post-Surgical Management include: Cardiac bypass, Amputations, Arterial grafts, Bowel resections, Colostomies, Organ transplants, Radical prostatectomies, and others.

SPORTS ENHANCEMENT THERAPY ~
The McGuire Group is pleased to offer Sports Medicine programs designed to compliment our Outpatient treatment services.

SPORTS SPECIFIC THERAPY -
This program will get you back to an activity that you may have previously been unable to do or are unable to begin because of health concerns. Treatment goals are developed by the therapist and take into consideration quality of life concerns, leisure activities and overall health.

PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT TRAINING -
This program is geared toward those who wish to improve their function in a particular area, such as golf. Our therapists perform a complex biomechanical analysis of the movement patterns associated with the sport to develop a training program that addresses imbalances or areas of weakness.

SWALLOWING THERAPY ~
The McGuire Group facilities are pleased to provide VitalStim Therapy® as an effective treatment for patients suffering with difficulty swallowing or dysphagia. It was developed in response to the 15 million Americans living with dysphagia today. VitalStim® Therapy is a non-invasive, external electrical stimulation therapy. The therapy uses specifically designed electrodes applied to the muscles of the throat to promote proper swallowing.

WOUND CARE ~
We are pleased to have a unique affiliation with the Center for Skin Integrity, located on Garden Gate Health Care Facility's campus. The Center provides comprehensive wound care treatment and management of coexisting medical diseases.
