Dr. Joseph Falcone, board certified orthopedic surgeon with Buffalo Orthopaedic Group, will be the featured speaker at a free seminar about Technology and Treatment Options for Arthritis and Joint Replacements at The McGuire Rehabilitation Centers. Stryker produces the Triathlon Knee System implant, designed with a wide range of sizing options that closely match the anatomies of both women and men. For women, the smaller sized implants have a more narrow design, helping to improve fit and function for the female bone structure. The system also offers 150 degrees of flexion, which allows for a greater range of motion to perform life’s daily activities.Orthopaedic surgeons are reporting patient outcomes that have shown the Triathlon Knee System offers 12 to 15 degrees of greater range in motion one year after surgery. The McGuire Rehabilitation Centers have been offering high-quality post-surgical care for more than a decade, successfully rehabbing an average of 4,000 patients per year. A patient’s surgeon and the centers’ rehabilitation therapists work closely to coordinate joint-specific therapies targeted to each individual’s needs. Patients can expect to receive occupational and physical therapy utilizing specialized equipment, assistive devices and hands-on training to restore function, mobility and strength to the affected joint. The programs take place in rehabilitation suites designed for simulated home training in kitchen, bedroom and bathroom settings.
