Skilled Nursing Care |
"To the entire staff at Garden Gate:
It is with deepest and sincere gratitude that I
write this, for the care and comfort given to my Mother both day and night. The
workers at Garden Gate are dedicated and always express a genuine interest in
her well-being. They are sure to treat each individual patient and visiting
family members with respect and make them feel welcome. No question goes
unanswered. Mother is very happy here and well treated. We couldn’t ask for
more.
I want to thank also the people whose work we
don’t often get to see out in the open. The cooks preparing meals; the
repairmen who might fix a radio or television or make sure the wheelchairs are
clean and ready for the next day. The laundry facility; hairdresser; activities
coordinator and office personnel, the receptionist who greets you.
Each person here works hard, hand in hand to make
Garden Gate work like a precision clock. No one misses a beat. It is because of
this coordinated effort and dedication that Garden Gate can be proud of the
people who work here. When you have this type of devotion, you know you’re
getting quality care."

"We would like to thank all of you so very much
for the excellent care which was given to my husband Gene Falter. We are very
pleased. Keep up the good work."

"I will always remember all the nurses and aides
who took such special care of my mother. Her stay at Garden Gate was short, but
the memories of this facility will always be in my heart. Your kindness and
compassion at this difficult time was overwhelming. Special thank you to Vicky
and Patrice – you both were great. Debbie Brown, Mary, who is an incredible
nurse and an asset to your facility. Val for her concern and kindness…for all
her phone calls…and everyone else whose names have slipped my mind. Thank you
all so much."

"Dear Caring Staff,
We want to thank you all for the wonderful care
you gave mom, Lois Treichler, while she was in Northgate for her last days of
life, April 1-10. The care, concern and comfort you gave was so appreciated!
You were always ready and willing to help – to go the extra mile. You truly
helped to ease the pain of a very difficult situation and we will never forget
that. You have been a blessing to us, and we thank God for you! Thank you from
the bottom of our hearts."

"Every time I enter your facility I’m amazed by
the tender-loving care that is shown to my parents and the other residents.
It’s so nice to see individuals who are dedicated to their profession and the
people they care for. Keep up the great work!"

"This is to express my appreciation of the
superlative care given to my mother, Edna Rouse, during the almost four years
she lived at Northgate. All of her physical and emotional needs were met with
consistent efficiency, and what is most important, with kindness.
During my daytime visits, I came to know the
social workers Debbie and Sarah, who helped me many times, but I wish also to
extend my thanks to all the nurses and aides, including those on the night
shift whom I never met personally.

"I’ve been an RN for twenty years. What a delight
your facility is! The entire staff was so nice to all of the patients and
families. You do a wonderful job letting these patients keep their dignity and
make them happy. I enjoyed seeing how they could all wander around freely – but
yet you kept track of their whereabouts and safety.
My children enjoyed visiting the facility and all
of the patients, your staff made them feel welcome and not in the way.
I thank you all so very much for everything
you’ve done. I am so impressed. Keep up the good work."

"About three months ago I had to put my mother in
your facility. Mom was 91 years old and fought to keep her independence through
rehab. It was at that time that I met one of your employees, Ms. Ellen
Dukagjini. I was never so impressed with the care and understanding that she
gave my family and me. She made this transition work as smooth and easily as
possible. She explained everything so that even I could understand it. I have
already thanked her and now I wanted you to know that in my opinion you have a
great person in your employ. After Mom’s death, Ellen worked with me to clear
up and get everything straight with the Dept. of Social Services. I cannot
thank her enough for all the help she gave me.
You also have in your employ a Ms. Janet Barry.
Janet helped me through all the rough times with mom. She is a very caring and
knowledgeable person. She ran the team meetings and helped me through every
phase of mom’s stay. I also thanked her, but wanted you to know that you have
such caring and loving people on your staff."

"I would like to thank and congratulate your
staff for the wonderful care you have been giving my father for the past
several months. In this very difficult time for my family, the employees of
your care facility have been most compassionate. When one hears the horror of
abusive nursing homes, it makes choosing one a very difficult decision. I am
sure we made the right decision by choosing yours. Thank you again for taking
great care of my Dad and for all the hard work you do."

Subacute Rehabilitation |
"The McGuire Group really knows how to handle
people in a way no other nursing facility can. Everyone is cheerful, patient
and understanding.
I would recomend McGuire rehab therapy because of
the peace of mind you receive knowing a complete medical staff is always
available.
My overall experience was far beyond my
expectations."

"It was a difficult transition for me from
hospital to rehab. It was very hard to imagine being dependent on other people
for just about everything. Being 54 years old, fiercely independent and used to
being in charge, I couldn't face letting go to others. Valerie listened to me
through my tears, helping me settle in and checked on me during the week.
Darlene was especially cheerful, along with anyone else who needed to come in
contact with me. I'm having a great recovery and am pleased with my rapid
progress. I've worked hard, but the staff has encouraged me to do so. Patients
need to be pro-active, but it helps to have an excellent staff that works
together. From a tearful, emotional start - I'm finishing joyful and restored.
I'd recommend Autumn View in Hamburg to anyone who will need rehab after hip
surgery.
I was encouraged to describe my living situation
in order to personalize my O.T. program. My O.T. made sure I was completely
ready to adapt to my home/lifestyle (no unrealistic expectations).
The P.T. staff works well - definitely a team
effort. Caring - I observed caring for all patients, especially the elderly. In
addition, the staff will work you to the max of your ability to achieve
results."
|
| - Carole Orlowski |
"Leaving a hospital and arriving at Autumn View
was almost effortless and efficient. I relaxed the moment I entered my lovely
room. This has been my third stay at Autumn View, and many of the same staff
members are still here, that alone speaks volumes to me. It tells me that The
McGuire Group truly values its entire staff with competitive salary and
benefits. I also enjoy their sense of humor and interaction. They are wonderful
healers."
|
| - Regina Doherty |
"I was truly impressed by the overall quality of
your facility. People were genuinely happy to be caregivers and helpers.
Wherever I had a need or a question, someone was there to answer it promptly.
Also, your staff truly seemed to enjoy their jobs and working for this
facility. That's a sign of the quality of people who work here and the tone set
by your organization. Your staff made a stressful time for me very comfortable
through their compassion and humor. I would recommend this facility anytime.
God Bless."

| - Michelle Duszynski |
"I know that I'm well enough to go home, but the
stay here has been so pleasant that I'm not in any hurry. The entire staff,
from RN's to maintenance, is so friendly that it shows they enjoy working here.
I have never been at a facility that is so clean."
|
| - Edward Becher |
"I was a bit concerned about coming here from the
hospital, but was determined to make the most of therapy. Everyone here has
been so wonderful that I actually hate to leave.
If I ever need further surgery followed by rehab
you can be sure I will request Harris Hill."

| - Janice Campanini-Papa |
"I want to take the time to convey to you my
experience during more than two weeks from March 29th to April 14th in the
subacute ‘rehab’ wing. I was living in room 33-section a. The staff of nurses,
aides, therapists and other support staff all were very professional. It seemed
that they had extra patience, kindness and concern for all, even above the call
of duty. You should be proud of this valuable staff working at your facility.
During that time, my visitors also commented on the cleanliness and clean smell
of the facility as compared to some they have visited.."

"Thank you for making my stay so warm and caring.
I cried when I came here, I didn’t want to come, but my boys insisted. I’m so
glad I did come. I can’t say enough good things about all of you and this
place. Thank you all so much and God bless you. I leave here today feeling
good. I’m on my way to recovery. I would recommend Garden Gate to anyone. Thank
you again and God bless you all."

"The family of Mrs. Ignatjew would like to thank
all of you for all your efforts and the great job you did in getting our mom to
the point of walking with her walker so quickly after her hip replacement.
Charlene, I know you and your crew work hard. I see it with all the residents
at Garden Gate and I’ve seen it with my mom. Thank you so much for making her
feel comfortable and taking such good care of her. God bless you all for the
work that you do."

| - Mrs. Betty Mazurek |
"I am writing for my mother Ruth Kroldart, who
was a resident in your Subacute Care unit. We wanted to comment on the
excellent care she was given, both on the unit and in Physical Therapy.
Aside from the care, not one individual appeared
to be too busy to answer a question or just to listen to our concerns. Jeanne
Gallagher, the head Therapist was just wonderful. I’ve never met a more
dedicated individual. I could not believe the time she spent over and above her
shift, helping anyone who might need it. Helen O’Brien, our social worker was
also fantastic. I can’t say enough about your facility. Thanks for all the
CARE."
|
| - Kathleen Kroldart |
"Before my husband entered The McGuire Group’s
Subacute Care program, I thought nursing homes were only for sick people, not
realizing what you really do for other people. My husband is getting the best
care from everyone that walks into his room. What a wonderful staff you have.
This is my first experience with a nursing home, and I cannot believe the
things your staff can do. My husband is getting excellent therapy and nursing
care for his hip. Thank you to everyone."
|
| - Anna Marchi |
"I just had to write to complement you and your
staff on the excellent care I received while recuperating from a hip
replacement.
The name country club to describe your facility
really applies with the beautiful landscaping, the interior decorating and the
solarium."

"I was very impressed (I am speaking for my
sisters, as well) by Northgate Health Care Facility and the wonderful, caring
staff. From the moment my mother was admitted, until the time she left,
everyone was pleasant and compassionate. No matter how many times the staff was
called or questions asked, they always took their time with each one. I
observed this not only with my mother but other patients as well.
You all were a tremendous help in getting her
back on her feet given her problems and age. Hazel is currently living with her
daughter, Carolyn, in Canada and doing well.
Please pass our thanks on to everyone at
Northgate - keep up the good work."

"Thank you so much for the good care I received
while at Garden Gate. I was treated so nice by everyone. Please let those who
cared for me know I appreciated them for their loving care.
I thank God for those who use their talents to
help us in our daily needs. This is truly "love in action." I’m doing quite
well and hope for a measure of help from the Lord to heal me."

"As a patient on E Wing, I just wanted to pass
along my gratitude for everything that was done for me during my stay at
Northgate. I had never been in the hospital before, and was frightened as to
what to expect.
The therapy department was wonderful. I am sure
that if I had gone directly home from the hospital, instead of coming to
Northgate, I would not be as far along in my recovery as I am now. Thanks
again."

"My stay at Autumn View felt like I was on a
healing vacation. The entire staff is a group of people who work together -
with a singular common goal - comfort and welfare of the patient!! In today's
world, this atmosphere is hard to achieve but they have, making me feel like I
was part of one big happy family!"

"All nurses, aides, staff and everyone were
always extremely friendly, helpful, caring at all times. They were always there
when needed. Aside from my having a broken left leg and a sprained right foot,
my experience at Northgate has been a very positive and happy one. I would
recommend Northgate to anyone above and beyond any other nursing/health care
facility I have ever had any experience with. Knowing and helping quite a few
other senior citizens in the past, not to mention my own experience, I feel
that I am quite qualified with my high recommendation for Northgate. Thanks to
all of you for making my two-plus weeks stay here as pleasant as it was."

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care |
"The staff at Harris Hill Nursing Facility has
helped me through many of the emotional challenges that I was faced with when
my wife, Marie, was admitted in 1992. Taking part in the support groups has
helped me gain a better understanding of the Alzheimer’s disease process and
meet other people who are facing the same challenges as I."
|
| - James Allis |
"I wish to express my sincere thanks for the
loving care and concern you gave my mother when she resided at Garden Gate for
over eight years until her death.
Our family could not have had such peace of mind
to know that she was loved and watched over as he was in your care. Alzheimer’s
dementia robs the individual of their mind and body in such a way that only
people who deal with it know the pain and stress it causes.
To have a loved one in a nursing home where they
are loved and cared for above and beyond normal duties gives the family great
comfort and peace of mind.
Thank you again for your devotion and commitment
to the highest professional standards."

Respite Care |
"My wife and I find ourselves in the position of
having my mother Anna (a double amputee), living with us, and being solely
responsible for her care. Even though Anna tries to be as independent as she
can, the responsibility for her constant care takes its toll on us. When in
need of a vacation or a desire to visit our children and their families who
live out of town, we find great comfort in having Anna stay in The McGuire
Group Respite Care program.
The excellent quality of care my mother received
at Garden Gate gave my wife and me complete peace of mind. The staff is
competent, professional and friendly; the facilities are comfortable and clean;
and other amenities such as good meals, an on-site beauty parlor, planned
activities, and a sense of belonging make Anna’s stay a joy to her and a source
of peace of mind for us. In fact, Anna refers to her several stays at Garden
Gate as "vacations" of her own!"

"When I needed to find temporary care for my
wife, Vivian, Autumn View’s respite care program was the perfect answer. The
staff treated her with care and compassion, and I was able to have peace of
mind knowing she was in good hands. I am very thankful to the caring and
professional staff who gave my wife such wonderful care."
