The Junior Volunteer Program was designed for students
16 years of age or older and provides opportunities to volunteer in a long-term
care environment as part of a team committed to exceptional care.
Most schools require volunteer service for health and
government classes. There are many areas in which you can volunteer and meet
your school requirements. Evenings and weekends are available in the Activities
Department for those volunteers who have school commitments that prevent
volunteering during the day.
Junior Volunteers serve by Assisting with Arts and
Crafts activities, acting as Friendly Visitors, participating in Reminiscent
Groups and much more!
Free parking and meals are provided.
The program goals are to:
-
Enhance the quality of life for our residents / patients through assisting them
in leisure activities and activities of daily living.
-
To provide a learning environment for students who are interested in a career
in health care or in volunteering their time to the community.
-
To emphasize the value of intergenerational contact and communication.
