ChairmanFrank J. McGuire was born and raised in South Buffalo where he was the oldest of five brothers. He attended South Park High School and the University of Buffalo School of Engineering where he served as President of the graduating class of 1953. Frank was selected to join the General Electric Company’s premier Engineering program in Schenectady, New York where he worked on the design and development of the Nuclear Reactors used in the first atomic submarines.
CEOF. James McGuire is Chief Executive Officer of The McGuire Group, a portfolio of privately held companies, employing more than 2,300 individuals. The organization is involved principally in the businesses of health care, pharmaceuticals and investments. Jim’s early work in the family companies began in 1984 as an electrician’s apprentice and carpenter in Western New York and Fairbanks, Alaska. He left to pursue a B.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology and spent five years with W.L. Gore and Associates before returning to his roots in 1996. Increasing responsibilities in all aspects of the companies culminated in the role of CEO in 2002.
Co-CEOStephen M. Mercurio serves as President of The McGuire Group. In this capacity, he is responsible for the oversight, management and direction of services for the group’s 2,100 employees and six facilities including Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville, Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda, Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca and Brookhaven Health Care Facility in East Patchogue.
Chief Operating OfficerSusan Grigg is the Chief Operating Officer The McGuire Group. She is responsible for: developing and implementing clinical programs; monitoring quality outcomes and associated risk management relationships; creating and evaluating policies and procedures; overseeing clinical operations, overseeing administrative operations, evaluating external service providers and interfacing programmatic requirments. In 2007, Sue began her career with The McGuire Group, and has since held positions as Vice President, Director of Quality and Compliance and Administrator of Health Care Services. Sue is a member of the Professional Nurses Association of Western New York. She attended Niagara County Community College and the University at Buffalo.
Director of Patient AdmissionsJennifer McDonald has provided hands-on professional nursing care and administration oversight for The McGuire Group’s residents and patients since 1992.
