Vassilios Dimopoulos MD UB Neurosurgery for websiteVassilios G. Dimopoulos, MD University at Buffalo Neurosurgery
TOPIC: Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery.

Dr. Dimopoulos joined UB Neurosurgery in October, 2014, and leads the department’s minimally invasive spine program. Born in Athens, Greece, he completed medical school at the University of Patras and began his neurosurgical residency there at one of the most prominent neurosurgical residency programs in Greece. He moved to the US and completed his residency training at the University of Rochester, NY, in July, 2013. He then went on to complete a spine fellowship at University of Miami, Department of Neurological Surgery. He has several awards and honors including Who’s Who in America 2005, 2007 and 2009.

TOPIC: Hip Surgery & Post-Op Recovery

Dr. Rachala is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in lower extremity joint replacement and reconstruction. In addition to treating his patients, Dr. Rachala concurrently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There, he is on the cutting edge of orthopaedic research and trains the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.  As Dr. Rachala puts it, “The main focus of my practice is the patient care, and improving outcomes by innovation while also educating future surgeons.” Dr. Rachala is seeing new patients at the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine offices in Amherst and Orchard Park.

TOPIC: Rotator Cuff & Shoulder Injuries

Dr. Ryan Wilkins is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and minimally invasive joint preservation surgery. His background as a Physical Therapist allows him, as a Surgeon, to readily identify those who can most benefit from non-operative management and to distinguish those who are likely to require a surgical procedure. Additionally, it gives him a unique perspective for managing patients post-operatively as they rehabilitate from surgery.

TOPIC: Hospitality & Health Care

Katie is the Administrator at The McGuire Group’s Seneca Health Care Center. She is responsible for the oversight and operation of all aspects of the 160-bed facility including nursing and administration. She is a member of NYSHFA (New York State Health Facilities Association) and ACHCA (American College of Health Care Administrators). In addition, she is an adjunct professor at Roberts Wesleyan College in the health services graduate program.

The Symposium offers a wealth of information to serve rehabilitative patients and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, access to vendors, give-aways and opportunities to network.
