F. James McGuire
F. James McGuire is Chief Executive Officer of The McGuire Group, a portfolio of privately held companies, employing more than 2,300 individuals. The organization is involved principally in the businesses of health care, real estate and investments.
Jim’s early work in the family companies began in 1984 as an electrician’s apprentice and carpenter in Western New York and Fairbanks, Alaska. He left to pursue a B.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology and spent five years with W.L. Gore and Associates before returning to his roots in 1996. Increasing responsibilities in all aspects of the companies culminated in the role of CEO in 2002.
Under Jim’s leadership, The McGuire Group has invested millions in the redevelopment and expansion of its programs and facilities turning its traditional health care settings into state-of-the-art environments for rehabilitation and nursing care. Jim’s commitment to high standards continues to foster a culture of quality and innovation. Together with a select team of highly qualified professionals, they have developed clinically sophisticated programs and services including subacute and outpatient rehabilitation, specialized memory care, palliative care and short-term respite care that are leading the dynamic changes in health care.
As an entrepreneur and community volunteer, Jim is continuously pioneering new industry initiatives and projects. He is co-founder of 43 x 79; has served on the boards of Buffalo Niagara Enterprise and Coordinated Care; and has co-chaired several fund-raisers for the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY. In addition, Jim has been recognized as a Volunteer of the Year by the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY and received the 2013 Trustees Reflections Award from Trocaire College.
