Terry Collins, RN, LNHA


As a registered nurse and licensed nursing home Administrator, Terry has utilized her clinical and hands-on experience for more than 15 years to propel The McGuire Group and its facilities to new levels in health care.

Terry joined the McGuire team in 1999 and served as Director of Nursing at the Group’s Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca for two years. Following that, she worked at the corporate center establishing and incorporating critical policies and procedures. Always looking to broaden her skills, Terry returned to school to obtain her nursing home Administrator’s license. After serving as Acting Administrator and Administrator at the Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Terry brought her expertise to her current home at Northgate Health Care Facility.

Terry’s leadership and focus has propelled Northgate and its staff to implement state-of-the-art programs and earn prestigious recognitions and awards. Over the years, she has been instrumental in partnering with Niagara Hospice to develop an in-house unit named Hospice at Jeanne’s House, a first of its kind in New York State. She has also charted the path for facility-wide palliative care programs, reduced the use of anti-psychotic medicine to treat dementia and developed fall prevention protocols that have decrease falls by more than 10% company-wide.

Terry earned her nursing degree from the University at Buffalo in 1983 and her certificate in Long-Term Care Administration from D’Youville College in 2004.  She has been recognized as a Health Care 50 Award winner and as a peer mentor with IPRO for Northgate’s status as a “high performing nursing home.” Under Terry’s direction, Northgate also received a Quality Award from IPRO in “recognition of excellence in care and service in June of 2015.

Terry works closely with the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY, Niagara Hospice, IPRO and many local community organizations.
