Garden Gate Honors Amy Schleer for 20 Years of Service

The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga is pleased to announce that Amy Schleer, RN, BSN, WCC, celebrated her 20-year employment anniversary with the company.

As the director of nursing, Schleer is responsible for the oversight of all nursing staff as well as implementation of nursing practices and care routines. In addition, she monitors and upholds compliance with federal and state regulations, standards of care and quality measures.

Schleer began her career with The McGuire Group as a volunteer at the age of 13. She has held positions as a resident aide, certified nursing assistant, LPN, RN and assistant director of nursing. In addition to her service at Garden Gate, she has also worked at the group’s Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.

She is a graduate of Cheektowaga High School and received an associate degree as a registered nurse from Trocaire Collage, a licensed practical nurse degree from BOCES II and a bachelor of science in nursing from American Sentinal University. She is a member of the Professional Nurses Association of WNY and APIC, Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. She resides in Cheektowaga and shares three children – Vito, Cody (resides in Buffalo) and Brandon (residing at NCCC) – with her fiancé Rob Carter.

Garden Gate Health Care Center provides 24-hour skilled nursing care, subacute rehabilitation, Journeys palliative care and respite/short-term services.
