Emma Adams, a resident at The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, celebrated her 102 birthday at a party in her honor.
Emma was born in Kershaw, South Carolina on October 15, 1918. She met her future husband, the late Clarence Adams, at a church event in Cleveland, OH. The couple resided in Evanston, Illinois and also on Spruce and Monroe Streets in Buffalo. They had one child who is deceased. Emma worked as a secretary for Baxtor Laboratories. She is a member of Deliverance Temple on Sherman St in Buffalo where she has made many life-long friends. She began attending the church in 1981 and served as a Sunday school teacher and head of the Christian education department where she mentored children who are now in their 30s.
Emma became a resident at Garden Gate in 2018 and enjoys spending her time reading books, especially by author Nora Roberts.
