Garden Gate Resident Turns 104!


WHO:            Hazel McClintic, a resident at The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility along with Randy Hoak, Commissioner of Senior Services, fellow residents and employees.

 WHAT:          A special celebration will be held for Hazel in honor of her 104th birthday. Commissioner Hoak will present her with a proclamation and everyone will enjoy cake. In addition, the facility’s dining room will be decorated with 104 purple balloons and the staff will be dressed in purple to recognize her favorite color. A storyboard will be on display highlighting all of the major events and inventions during the year 1912. Music that is appropriate to the time period will be playing while staff reads 1912-themed trivia.

WHEN:          Today, Thursday, May 26th at 12 noon.

WHERE:        Garden Gate Health Care Facility, 2365 Union Road, Cheektowaga (between Losson and French Roads).

MISC.:            Hazel McClintic was born in Buffalo on May 26, 1912. She was married to the late Gene McClintic and worked at Loblaws. During her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, going to the senior center on Broadway, fishing, knitting, gambling and playing BINGO. Hazel has been a resident at Garden Gate since 2014. She enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening and attending activity programs.
