Employees at The McGuire Group’s Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville hosted a real-time disaster preparedness drill to practice the protocols and steps that would be followed in the event of a true emergency.
The mock scenario focused on reviewing the procedures necessary for accepting residents from another nursing home. Stages of the drill included disembarking from a transport vehicle, admission protocols as well as monitoring of patients’ conditions and vital signs.
Similar drills took place simultaneously at the McGuire Group’s four other WNY locations including Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.
Mock drills highlighting a number of mutual aid scenarios are hosted on a regular basis at The McGuire Group’s facilities.
