Ruth Moore, a resident at The McGuire Group’s Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster, celebrated her 103 birthday at a party in her honor. She was born on January 15, 1915 in Buffalo to Violet (Bowers) and Emil Beutler. Ruth’s mother passed away when she was 5 years old.
Ruth met her husband, the late Charles Moore, at the Edward J. Meyer Hospital where she worked in the dietary department. He was a deputy sheriff in Buffalo. The couple lived in Clarence, and Ruth worked as a candy maker at Fowler’s Chocolates.
Ruth has four children: Kathy, Karen, Robert and the late Richard. She was a parishioner at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time at her summer home on Chautauqua Lake. She became a resident at Harris Hill Nursing Facility in July of 2017. She is known for her sense of humor and enjoys watching old movies, reading the newspaper and spending time with family.
