The McGuire Group’s Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster hosted its 23rd annual Volunteer Recognition and Award luncheon on April 14th at Forestview Restaurant. More than 45 volunteers were in attendance. Former teacher Karin Johnson of East Amherst was recognized as the 2016 volunteer of the year.

Karin wears many hats at Harris Hill. She assists the activities staff, hosts a weekly story group where she reads to the residents and promotes reminiscing, and engages them in meaningful discussions. She also runs an inspirational prayer service. She is a friend and a support to the residents and is someone they appreciate and look forward to seeing.

Harris Hill Nursing Facility provides 24-hour skilled nursing care, post-hospital and outpatient rehabilitation, Journeys palliative care, memory care and respite/short-term care. The facility continuously receives five-star ratings from the federal government and finished in the first quintile in NY State’s quality benchmarking pool.
