With great team work we can accomplish anything. This is the feeling that has empowered the staff at The McGuire Group’s Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda as they work together in memory of a former co-worker and friend, Amanda Hescox of Niagara Falls. Amanda had worked as a certified nursing assistant at the facility for 14 years before passing away at the age of 33 and leaving behind her beloved 13-year-old daughter Marissa. As a devoted mother, Amanda always made sure Marissa had what she needed to continue her love of dance, something she has done since she was a young girl.
The staff at Northgate has made it their mission to host a variety of fundraisers during the month of January to raise money so that Marissa can continue to dance. So far, they have collected more than 40 raffle baskets and have a number of fun events planned including the ever-popular pie throwing contest.
