Luncheon to Honor 30 Veterans at Garden Gate Health Care Facility
WHO: Thirty veterans residing at Garden Gate Health Care Facility, along with staff and guest entertainers.
WHAT: Thirty (30) veterans will enjoy a special Veterans Day catered luncheon in their honor. The program will begin with a flag ceremony and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Star-Spangled Banner, a Veterans Day poem and the reading of each veteran’s name and service branch.
In addition, custom flags bearing each veteran’s name will be presented to them and hung on the walls outside their rooms. The entranceway to the facility will also be lined with lawn signs listing each veteran’s name and branch of service.
Entertainment will be provided by Dick O’Dell’s 23 Skidoo with the theme of Veterans Saluting Veterans after a catered chicken parmesan luncheon. “We’re honored to be able to recognize our veterans during this luncheon and to thank them for their service to our country,” stated Activity Director, Rhonda Gorman.
