The McGuire Group, a local operator of nursing and rehabilitation facilities, is pleased to announce that all five of its Western New York facilities are rated five stars out of five by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This makes the company the only multi-facility nursing home and rehabilitation provider in the area to have all of its facilities rated with five stars out of five.

The government posted its refreshed five-star quality rankings, which are generated based on scores in several categories including a facility’s state inspection, staffing levels and quality of care measures such as prevalence of pressure ulcers, injuries due to falls, use of resident restraints and anti-psychotic drug usage. Rankings for facilities nation-wide can be accessed at under the nursing home compare section.

The McGuire Group’s facilities include Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville, Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca. The group’s Brookhaven Health Care Facility on Long Island is also five-star rated.

In addition to the federal government’s rating, The McGuire Group is also the only multi-facility provider in the state to have all of its facilities score in the top quintile of New York State’s nursing home quality initiative (NHQI) for four out of four years.

“We have a tremendous, family-oriented team that for the last 40 years has pioneered policies and protocols to enhance our residents’ quality of life,” stated McGuire President Stephen Mercurio, RNMS, LNHA, CAS. “This is not only reflected in our facilities’ ratings but in the longevity of our staff and in the overall health and well-being of our residents.”

The McGuire Group’s services include 24-hour skilled nursing care, subacute and outpatient rehabilitation, memory care, Journeys palliative care and respite/short-term care. For more information, visit
