The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga is pleased to announce that Sam Tripi, MHA, RN, earned a master of health care administration degree from Utica College through the company’s tuition assistance program. Tripi received financial support for tuition and books as well as flexibility in his schedule to allow him to work and pursue his advanced degree.

Tripi also holds a bachelor of arts in English literature from Canisius College and an associate degree in nursing from Erie Community College. In addition, Tripi will be taking the board exam in late 2019 to be a certified gerontological nurse and will sit for the licensed nursing home administrator exam in early 2020.

Tripi has been employed at Garden Gate since July of 2015. As a subacute unit coordinator, he is responsible for the daily oversight of a 54-bed subactue rehabilitation unit.

Tripi’s master of health care administration degree has provided advanced training to identify, articulate and exhibit leadership attributes in professional work and academic forums; apply systems thinking applications in person, with a team or within the health care organization; apply best practices in critical thinking application and creativity in guiding applied research in health care; interpreting and mastering project management design, development and evaluation; and identifying collaborative health care initiatives.

Tripi resides in Buffalo with his wife Nancy, who is a certified occupational therapy assistant, COTA, and has two daughters: Haylee and Samantha.
