McGuire Group Offers Free Community Program on How to Indicate Personal Health Care Wishes

I feel that this day will be greatThe McGuire Group, operator of five nursing and rehabilitation facilities in WNY, is offering a free community forum titled Making Clear Medical Choices: Letting Your Medical Wishes

Be Known to Your Loved Ones on Tuesday, April 25 at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Depew. The event will begin at 8:30 am with registration and a complimentary full buffet breakfast. The program will run from 9 am – 11 am.

Health care experts will review the forms needed when indicating wishes for personal health care directives and life-sustaining care such as a health care proxy, MOLST form and do not resuscitate order. Forms will also be available at the event.

The program is being presented as part of The McGuire Group’s Journeys palliative care program available at its four Erie County locations including:  Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca. The Journeys program is designed to meet the needs, priorities and choices of individuals in the final stages of life. This involves recognizing patient individuality and fulfilling wishes as they relate to comfort, care and treatment.
