The McGuire Group’s Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda is pleased to announce that Terry Collins, RN, BSN, LNHA, celebrated her 20-year employment anniversary with the organization.

As administrator, Collins is responsible for the daily operation of the 200-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. Over the last two decades, she has held a number of roles within the organization including administrator at Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, director of nursing at Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca and health care services director for the McGuire Group.

Her leadership and focus has propelled Northgate and its staff to implement state-of-the-art programs and earn prestigious recognitions and awards. She has been instrumental in partnering with Niagara Hospice to develop Hospice at Jeanne’s House, a first-of-its-kind unit in New York State, designed for individuals requiring 24-hour skilled nursing care and hospice services. She has also charted the path for facility-wide palliative care programs, reduced the use of anti-psychotic medicine to treat dementia and developed fall prevention protocols that have decreased falls company-wide.

Collins is a member of the American College of Health Care Administrators and the Professional Nurses Association of WNY.

She resides in Buffalo with her husband George and has five children: Christopher Safulko of Williamsville, Jordan Pursel of Buffalo, Max Collins of Portland, OR, Andrew Safulko of Denver, CO and Bennett Collins of St. Andrews, Scotland.

Northgate Health Care Facility provides 24-hour skilled nursing care, subacute and outpatient rehabilitation, hospice care, specialized memory care and respite/short-term services. The facility continuously receives 5-star ratings from the federal government and is among a short list of facilities that finished in the first quintile of NY State’s quality benchmarking pool for 6 out of 6 years.
