The McGuire Group Journeys Program
Our Journeys palliative care program is designed to meet the needs, priorities and choices of individuals in the final stages of life.
Unlike other end-of-life care programs, patients entering the Journeys program will not be required to sacrifice their Medicare Part A coverage. In addition, they will not have to navigate two different systems of care providers, as all care is provided by The McGuire Group’s physicians, RNs, LPNs, social workers and therapists trained in palliative care.
Cost of Journeys Program vs. Traditional Hospice Program
|Traditional Hospice Program||Journeys Program|
|First 20 days||$6,000||$0|
* Prices are based on a 100 day stay
* Hospice prices are based on a $300 per day stay
* Medicare pays first 20 days of Journeys Program, after which, patient pays $140 Co-Pay per day
The Journeys program recognizes patient individuality and fulfills wishes as they relate to comfort, care and treatments. Our facilities are designed to meet the needs of patients and their families. Each one includes beautifully decorated private and semi-private rooms, comfortable furnishings, brightly lit solariums, large modern dining rooms, private lounge areas and park-like outdoor settings. In addition, comfort measures such as lounge chairs, a refreshment cart and a supportive atmosphere are available for family members when patients are nearing the end of life.
Our Journeys program also offers an opportunity for you to host a Celebration of Life event in honor of your loved one. Our program originated from the first-hand experience of our CEO, Jim McGuire, and the celebration he hosted for his mother at the end of her life.
It’s our goal to assist you in planning an easy and memorable event that will serve as a special time for your loved one to reminisce, share and connect with those who are most cherished in your lives.
